WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI FOUNDATION
The Washington High School Alumni Foundation was incorporated on October 24, 1990 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation was initially created to raise money to preserve the Arch of the Main Building during campus reconstruction on the 1990’s. The Main Building was erected in 1923-24. After completion of that task, the Foundation now directs its efforts towards funding student scholarships and helping support student and campus activities. Including the Class of 2016, the Foundation has awarded over $90,000 in college scholarships to graduating students.
The alumni foundation has given out scholarships to worthy graduating students from the high school. We are always looking for donors to set up more scholarships. Being a 501 (C) (3) non-profit foundation, contributions that are made to the foundation are tax deductible.
The Board of Directors meets once a month at the school and work closely with the ASB and student leadership classes. We are always looking for volunteers in various capacities. Would you like to join us? The Board of Directors currently meets at WHS on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM.
Can’t attend in person? You can attend by FaceTime or Skype by arrangement.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have contributed to any online service websites in the past, you are not giving your money to WHSAF as annual fees. Several websites claim to be the Washington High School Alumni Association, but the fees are to join the for-profit websites, such as "Alumni Junction.com” or “Classmates.com." While they are respectable organizations, the Washington students don't benefit. Any contributions made to the Alumni Foundation are tax deductible.
